Oyate Group works on-the-ground in the Dominican Republic to close resource gaps for communities affected by poverty and natural disaster.

Oyate Global Rising Scholarship

Oyate Group, Fundación Rica , and Senator Alexis Victoria Yeb, Representing de Maria Trinidad Sanchez, to provide Oyate Global Rising Scholarship, a program offering full rides to two high school seniors from the Dominican Republic to attend City College of New York in New York City for four years.

Oyate Group will also provide the scholarship winners with monthly mentorship meetings and help them identify paid summer internships in their chosen fields of study to ensure they have continuous support and guidance throughout their college journey.

Eligibility

  • A current resident of Dominican Republic 

  • Currently attending a Public School in Dominican Republic
  • A student in their final year of secondary school/high school

  • Maintain a GPA above 85%  while attending secondary school/high school

Scholarship Timeline

  • Oct 1-Jan 31: Applications Open

  • February: Application Review Process

  • March: Chosen Recipients are notified

Oyate Group works with major league players to provide critical education and health resources to the Dominican Republic.

DONATED 1000+ School Supply-Filled Backpacks

Provided school supplies and backpacks to children headed back to school in the hometowns of all donating Major League Baseball players.

Ambulance

Equipped and donated three ambulances to strengthen the island’s emergency response.

Oyate Group responds to direct community needs to ensure a better future for the people of the Dominican Republic.

Hurricane Relief

Raised and donated over $60,000 to the local fundraising platform Jompéame for hurricane relief efforts.


Santiago Matías aka Alofoke  

Contributed $60,000 to sponsor Dominican radio host, musician and producer Alofoke at Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden.  

$10K DONATED FOR HURRICANE RELIEF IN DR

Oyate Group partnered with Major League Baseball’s Players Association to donate $10,000, matched by the Player’s Association, to hurricane relief in the Dominican Republic in 2022.
