Bronx Rising initiative helping Bronx residents go to college with Brandon Hendricks Scholarship
It’s been just over a year since Brandon Hendricks was shot and killed in the Bronx. His loved ones say they are still hurting and want to spread positivity in his name.
During the summer, many students are preparing to go to college — as Brandon Hendricks was in the summer of 2020 before he was killed.
In his honor, the Bronx Rising initiative put together the Brandon Hendricks Scholarship to help other Bronx residents go to college.
The recipients will be attending different universities across the country in the fall of 2021.
The initiative chose the participants because they all have the same mission, which is to help and better their communities.
