Oyate Group believes that direct, on-the ground support to underserved communities is the path to ending poverty across New York City. We work to give resources directly to those in need and uplift organizations working tirelessly to serve their communities.

Bronx Fire Response

On January 9, 2021, the Bronx faced one of the worst fires in the city in recent memory. Seventeen residents of the Twin Peaks complex, most of them immigrants and individuals living below the poverty line, passed away, and countless other residents were displaced from their homes. The Oyate Group distributed over $100,000 in gift cards to the families affected to support them in buying groceries, clothes and other necessities as they got back on their feet.

WeGather

WeGather space is a gathering of women for women. We convene to support grassroots organizations in the Bronx that serve and support women and girls. The price of admission is your presence to support and learn about the women and the work happening in the Bronx. We hope you will come out and support WeGather space, Women supporting Women.

Past Topics include:

  • Leveling the Playing Field in the Workspace. We will discuss how we can promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • O.U.R. Place where Hunts Point/Longwood neighbors connect, and contribute to their community, find resources, support one another, and build protective factors that help families thrive.
