Group of students treated to full makeover before prom night
NYPD Officer Victor Matos initiated a heartwarming prom makeover program seven years ago, which recently took center stage at Crotona International High School in the Bronx. Bridal Reflections generously donated dresses that turned the students into showstoppers, and makeup artists worked their magic to make the evening truly special.
What sets this program apart is that it goes beyond just makeup and dresses. Matos ensures the students receive a police escort to their prom, adding an extra touch of glamour and safety to their night. This initiative has been a resounding success, and Matos has plans to expand it, with the goal of extending this heartwarming prom experience to students in all five boroughs of New York City. It’s a beautiful example of the community coming together to make high school proms memorable for these young individuals.
