The Beyond Rising Program offers paid internships for undocumented students in New York
The Oyate Group organization has launched the Beyond Rising program in New York City, addressing the challenging issue of finding paid internships for undocumented students. This innovative program offers paid internships without the requirement to prove immigration status. In its inaugural year, 20 students successfully completed internships at Fordham University, and in 2023, the program expanded to accommodate 45 students who can also intern at Lehman College. To further support participants, the program provides a $500 gift card donation. Ultimately, Beyond Rising aims to provide undocumented individuals with valuable opportunities for skill development, breaking the cycle of underemployment and poverty.
